Suicide Prevention in South Dakota

September is National Suicide Month. South Dakota is not immune from suicide. In 2018, suicide was the tenth leading cause of death in South Dakota, but raised​ to the second leading cause for individuals between the ages of 15 to 34. Governor Kristi Noem​ announced an Executive Proclamation​ to raise awareness and support prevention efforts in South Dakota.
