On Friday, February 21, in Deadwood, SD, Steven Buslovich, MD, MSHCPM, Assistant Clinical Professor at University at Buffalo School of Medicine in Buffalo New York, will present at SDAHO’s Frailty and Palliative Care: Caring Across the Continuum Event. Dr. Buslovich will discuss how to identify the medical risk of a patient and any adverse outcomes the patient may be susceptible to experiencing. He will also describe how to determine appropriate patient goals and expectations through the evidence-based metric, frailty. Also presenting is Monument Health Medical Director of Hospice and Palliative Care programs, Andrea Baier, MD. Dr. Baier will share how to best use palliative care to provide relief of discomfort and promote optimal quality of life to the most frail and elder patients. Dr. Buslovich and Dr. Baier will end the event with open dialogue on frailty and palliative care, where discussion will allow for attendee questions and participation.
