Bipartisan Policy Center Releases April 2020 Report

Rural hospitals are at risk of closure. Profit margins are too thin to sustain this crisis and immediate legislative and regulatory actions are needed to stabilize and improve the urgent problems challenging rural communities. Recently, the Bipartisan Policy Center Rural Health Task Force released their policy recommendations to improve healthcare quality, lower costs and enhance coverage and delivery. Five key recommendations are outlined in the report, including​ enhanced payments to keep obstetric units open and tax credits to encourage physicians and advance practice providers to stay in rural communities.
