Governor Kristi Noem announced a new framework on September 18 to designate up to $100 million in CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) for community based healthcare providers. To be eligible, providers must provide services funded by Medicaid or another state agency and be licensed as a nursing home or skilled nursing facility, assisted living facility, residential treatment facility, senior nutrition provider, in-home services or home health provider, adult day provider, community support provider, or a behavioral health provider.
The proposed grants will be distributed based on the provider’s reduction in business from 2019 to 2020 for the period of March to August, reduced by any previous federal aid received related to coronavirus. The proposed grants will be application based and distributed on a pro-rata share of available funds. Applications are proposed to open on October 12 and close on October 23, with a second allocation considered if additional funds are available.
