South Dakota Medicaid Released Online Submission of Institutional Claims

​​South Dakota Medicaid has expanded functionality in the Medicaid Portal to include the ability to submit institutional (UB-04) claims directly to South Dakota Medicaid. Beginning November 5, 2020, Medicaid Providers will be able to submit a Medicaid claim (including a claim with Third Party Liability) or a Medicaid Xover (Medicare Crossover claim, where Medicare is primary). Providers will be able to submit up to 5 attachments with the claim. South Dakota Medicaid encourages providers to start utilizing the online claim submission tool, but will continue to allow submission of paper claims. Use of the Medicaid Portal for claims submission reduces encoding errors and claims processing time.
