South Dakota Medicaid Announces 90-Day Prescription Fills

South Dakota Medicaid announced that the Medicaid program will now allow 90 day fills for certain generic maintenance medications. Previous prescription fills were limited to 30 days.

To be eligible for a 90 day supply, Medicaid recipients must first establish compliance and tolerability of the medication. To qualify, a Medicaid recipient must have filled the prescription for the same drug and strength for three 30 day supplies within the previous 100 days.

South Dakota Medicaid has made a list of drugs available for 90 day fills on their website. The list is subject to change; South Dakota Medicaid encourages providers to review the list frequently.
