Public Health Emergency Extended 90 Days

On July 19, 2021, Xavier Becerra, Secretary of Health and Human Services, renewed the determination that a public health emergency (phe) exists due to the continued consequences of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. This is the fourth renewal of the PHE since it was first declared in January of 2020, but the first renewal under the Biden Administration. Federal waiver flexibilities granted since the PHE was initiated will continue. The renewal is good for 90 days, expiring on Oct 18, 2021 which also includes the extension of the 1135 federal blanket waivers issued by CMS.
