Dr. Uthe’s August presentation approved for DEA credits

SDAHO is excited to announce collaboration with the Opioid Response Network (ORN) on getting approval for DEA licensure continuing medical education (CME) for Dr. Uthe’s presentation, Care & Management of the Patient with Chronic Pain & Opioid Dependence on August 1, 2024, at 12pm CST/11am MST. This approval is via AAAP/ORN for 1.0 CME through ACCME and will meet the requirements for DEA licensure. Please forward this information on to providers at your facility.

Dr. Craig Uthe will be presenting virtually on the Care & Management of the Patient with Chronic Pain & Opioid Dependence. Significant challenges exist in providing safe and adequate care to a patient with co-occurring chronic pain and opioid dependence. Establishing trust with and empowering this patient to be an active participant in their health is a difficult but a necessary step.

Craig Uthe, MD is a board-certified family physician with the American Board of Family Medicine and a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.  He is the Medical Director of Professional Well-Being at Sanford Health and the Chief Well-Being Officer for the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine. For over twenty-five years, Dr. Uthe has been a medical advisor to the SD Health Professionals Assistance Program, an organization that provides management services to health care professionals with potentially impairing illnesses & addictions.

During this session, we will focus on making an accurate diagnosis of their medical condition and developing an appropriate treatment plan in response. We will also review the significant differences in Morphine Milligram Equivalent (MME) dosages associated with acute pain, post-op pain, and chronic pain.

Participation is free. You do not want to miss out on this amazing opportunity! Please forward this information to your colleagues including your providers, pharmacists, front-line staff, administrative staff, and anyone else you feel would benefit from this webinar.
