The FY25 hospice final rule: Understanding payment rates & regulatory updates

On July 30, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the hospice final rule for fiscal year (FY) 2025. CMS is increasing per diem payments to hospice providers by 2.9%, which is more than the initial proposed increase of 2.6%. The final hospice aggregate cap also increased to $34,465.34 for FY 2025 (up from $33,494.01 from FY 2024).
