EHR Simplification and Documentation

Overview:

The amount of clinical documentation and the undue burden it puts on already stressed nursing staff can be overwhelming at times. But how much of that burden is actually required? Is there a way to simplify clinical documentation and still meet regulatory requirements? If you find yourself answering the question, “Why do we have to document that,” by responding, “Because Joint Commission requires us to,” then this webinar is for you. Cherilyn Ashlock is an Advisory Consultant with Chartis. She has more than 22 years of consulting and healthcare experience related to nursing, patient safety and quality, and performance improvement. Her expertise also includes regulatory affairs and hospital governance, clinical program development, policy, research, as well as operations and health system alignment.

Cherilyn serves as a member of the nursing advisory board for Mobella Health, a newly formed nursing technology start-up looking to revolutionize nursing documentation for both efficiency and compliance. Through this work, she supports nurses’ deep desire to connect with patients through increased time at the bedside, versus time at the computer. Cherilyn also serves as appointed faculty at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.
