Quality Professional Development Program

The Quality Professional Development Program is a 5-session educational program designed to equip quality nurse leaders with skills needed to conduct a mini quality improvement project specific to the needs of their hospital.

Four one hour monthly virtual education sessions will take place on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 2 pm CT/1 pm MT and will begin January 2025. The final session will consist of the quality improvement project(s) presentation in May at the annual CAH MBQIP workshop to be held in Sioux Falls. To take advantage of this excellent opportunity, it is highly recommended participants attend all sessions.

This exciting new quality professional development program is made possible by the federal Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility grant funds through the South Dakota Department of Health, Office of Rural Health in collaboration with the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations.

Program Overview

  • Develop a network of quality professionals from across the State of South Dakota
  • Gain skills in the areas of data collection and analysis, process improvement and communication

  • Apply your knowledge to develop an independent quality improvement project tailored to your hospital’s needs

Participation

There is no cost to participate, however, space is limited to five (5) CAH quality nurse leaders.
