Each year in May, the nation celebrates National Hospital Week (May 8-12), National Nurses Week (May 6-12) and National Nursing Home Week (May 14-20). This is a time when we pause to recognize the organizations and individuals who care for us when we are in our most fragile condition.
As active members of our communities, South Dakota’s post-acute providers, hospitals, nurses and all caregivers assist in advancing healthy communities through a unified voice across the health care continuum.
The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) has the unique privilege of representing hospitals, health systems and post-acute care providers in South Dakota. We envision communities where everyone reaches their highest potential for health.
These weeks are extra special, and we join in recognition and celebration of the women and men who support the health and wellbeing of their communities. They include care teams – physicians, nurses, therapists, food service workers, housekeeping, maintenance, volunteers, administration and so many more.
As we honor individuals that care for all citizens, let us care for them. Please take time to express a heartfelt appreciation for their dedicated and compassionate service supporting the health of our families, our communities and our great state.
