With the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act bill (H.R. 1) earlier this week, members of congress faced a formidable challenge as they shifted their focus to funding the government, as well as addressing important health care programs, including Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Medicare extenders.
The Senate and House agreed today to another short-term continuing resolution (CR) that keeps the government running until Jan. 19, 2018.
The CR includes temporary funding for the CHIP through March 2018 and funding for community health centers and the Indian Health Service.
The CR leaves a number of priority health care issues unresolved. Watch for additional updates.
