Global budgeting is an innovative payment approach for rural hospitals that can enhance financial performance and advance population health. Hospitals who adopt global budgets can increase the predictability of revenues in advance of the year and can concentrate on providing the services their communities need, as well as on the prevention and management of chronic illness. Maryland rural hospitals have utilized global budgets since 2010; selected Pennsylvania rural hospitals will move to a global budget process in the near future.
State Health and Value Strategies is hosting a webinar in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University on global budgeting for rural hospitals. The webinar will provide an overview of an upcoming State Policy Academy for states and provide technical assistance for potential applicants on how to apply for selection before the deadline of March 30.
The one-hour webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. CST. Registration is required.
