Sepsis accounts for 15 out of every 100 rural hospitalizations and is the cause of 50 percent of in-hospital deaths. New data suggests that clinicians are possibly missing the diagnosis more than they’re getting it right resulting in unnecessary transfers, long-term disabilities, readmissions and death.
To address this issue, the National Rural Health Association has partnered with InnovaTel Telepsychiatry to host a free webinar on March 29 at 2 p.m. CDT. The webinar will explore the barriers to improved sepsis recognition and treatment and investigate sustainable strategies to increase identification, improve outcomes, decrease mortality and keep patients in hometown hospitals.
