Eighteen nursing homes and one assisted living center operated by the for-profit Skyline Health Care were placed into receivership earlier this week, following a hearing in Hughes County Court, Pierre. The court appointed Black Hills Receiver, LLC as the receiver, which is affiliated with Golden Living Centers, the previous owner/operator of the facilities.
Wanda Prince, RN, President of Black Hills Receiver, LLC, explained that next steps include creating a work group to develop further operational plans.
The 19 impacted facilities consist of 1,800 employees who provide care for approximately 900 residents. The facilities include:
- Arlington Care and Rehabilitation Center
- Armour Care and Rehabilitation Center
- Clark Care and Rehabilitation Center
- Groton Care and Rehabilitation Center
- Ipswich Care and Rehabilitation Center
- Lake Norden Care and Rehabilitation Center
- Madison Care and Rehabilitation Center
- Milbank (Milbank Care and Rehabilitation Center and Park Place Care and Rehabilitation Center)
- Mobridge Care and Rehabilitation Center
- Pierre Care and Rehabilitation Center
- Rapid City (Bella Vista Care and Rehabilitation Center; Black Hills Care and Rehabilitation Center; Meadowbrook Care and Rehabilitation Center; Prairie Hills Care and Rehabilitation Center)
- Redfield Care and Rehabilitation Center
- Salem Care and Rehabilitation Center
- Sioux Falls (Covington Care and Rehabilitation Center)
- Watertown Care and Rehabilitation Center
Skyline assumed management responsibilities on January 1, 2017, from Golden Living. In March 2018, nursing facilities operated by Skyline were placed into receivership in Nebraska and Kansas.
