Deanna Larson, who started her career as a nurse, advanced to a quality leader for the Avera Health System and helped build the Avera eCARE program into a national telemedicine organization, has been recognized as the first telemedicine woman of the year by the American Telemedicine Association (ATA) during their annual conference in Chicago earlier this week.
As the eCARE CEO, Larson leads her team by focusing on their mission of improving access to quality healthcare in rural communities and by building successful programs to support the rural workforce in emergency rooms, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, correctional facilities and schools. eCARE is now the country’s largest virtual health network with 10 service lines and more than 400 sites in 16 states.
