Chris Espersen, a leading expert on the social determinants of health (SDH), will speak on June 13 at the Rural Health Leaders Conference. Espersen’s interactive session will cover the basics of social determinants of health care, then dive into elements of successful implementation. Participants will collaborate to create strategies to harness the power of community input and then select top priorities to start a data driven, community developed SDH initiative.
Espersen, a quality consultant working with health care and public health organizations across the nation, provides technical assistance around new initiatives, data fidelity, patient engagement and quality improvement. She is an adjunct instructor at Drake University where she teaches social determinants of health and speaks nationally on a variety of topics including social determinants of health, value-based payment, patient and family engagement and topics related to data driven quality improvement.
