Nursing homes in receivership stabilize operations

A company, Black Hills Receiver LLC, recently issued a press release that outlines steps they have taken to stabilize operations at 19 nursing home facilities in South Dakota.

Black Hills Receiver was appointed as receiver on May 1 for 18 nursing homes and one assisted living center who were previously operated by Skyline Health care.

The State of South Dakota has assisted in securing working capital for the facilities to ensure continued support in food services, medical supplies, utilities, pharmacy and other care needs. The press release stated, “…residents are receiving good care, employees are being paid on time and employee health insurance is in place.”

As the process moves forward, the state will continue to provide oversight and guidance. The facilities consist of 1,800 employees who provide care for approximately 900 residents.
