DHS issues notices to assisted living providers

HCBS provider self-assessment due July 13

To review South Dakota assisted living providers’ compliance progress with the Home and Community Based Services Setting requirements, the South Dakota Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS), is requiring that assisted living providers complete the HCBS Provider Self-Assessment by July 13. At the end of the assessment, providers will be required to upload all documents necessary to prove compliance with the HCBS Setting final rule requirements.

LTSS is required to ensure 100 percent compliance for all settings receiving Medicaid HCBS funding by the end of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) transition period in March 2022. LTSS will work with providers who may need to address significant compliance concerns to meet these requirements.
