Long term care facilities sought to participate in antibiotic stewardship program

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is seeking long term care facilities to join a national program that aims to reduce harms related to inappropriate use of antibiotics while preserving antibiotics’ effectiveness for future generations. The free 12-month program will begin Nov. 7 at 2:30 p.m. CT with a webinar. Registration for the webinar is required.

Benefits of participating in the program include monthly webinars to review best practices in the management of common infectious syndromes, free continuing education credits for nurses and physicians who attend the educational webinars, access to online presentations with facilitator guides that can be used to train frontline staff and more.
