The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released a notice stating that preview reports are available until Dec. 30. Preview reports are for inpatient and outpatient prospective payment system hospitals, inpatient psychiatric facilities and PPS-exempt cancer hospitals. The data includes overall quality star ratings for hospitals participating in the inpatient and outpatient quality reporting programs.
With this preview, CMS updated the star ratings methodology to address some stakeholder concerns following the July preview period, and revised the preview reports and login process in an effort to enhance the user experience. Â To review facility specific data, log in to the QualityNet Secure Portal. CMS plans to update the Hospital Compare website in February.
