Caregiver Toolkit for Oral Health

Caregiving often requires helping someone with oral healthcare. The Administration on Community Living (ACL) has developed a toolkit to help caregivers provide this assistance. The ACL points out that appropriate dental care is essential to healthy nutrition, social interaction, and the prevention of numerous chronic illnesses like heart disease and cancer. While older people today generally have retained more of their own teeth than did previous generations, those who need help with other activities of daily living may need assistance with oral health care as well.
