Now available from the SD Department of Health is the updated SD Office of Licensure and Certification Bi-Annual Nursing Facility Regulation Report.
The purpose of this report is to provide statistics and information regarding the regulation of nursing facilities in South Dakota. The deficiency data includes all long-term care health surveys, which shows a sharp decline in the number of total deficiencies from 690 in 2016 to 353 in 2018. In addition, a 75% decrease in Civil Monetary Penalties imposed and the amount collected from 2017 to 2018.
