Secretary of Social Services Announces Resignation

South Dakota’s Secretary of Social Services, Gregory DeSutel is resigning after three months on the job to return to the private sector.  The resignation will be effective May 22 according to a Thursday, May 2 news release.

Governor Noem in Thursday’s release said she “wish(es) him the best in his next chapter.”

“I’m grateful for Greg’s service and the perspectives he brought from the private sector to the Department of Social Services,” she said.

Governor Noem will appoint an interim secretary in the coming days.
