MOST Webinar

Join us on Thursday, August 22 at 1pm CST for an overview of the new South Dakota MOST (Medical Orders for Scope of Treatment) legislation and what this means for patients and providers. This webinar will feature four distinct perspectives on MOST and how this will be implemented throughout our state.
Presenters:
  • Deb Fischer- Clemens from Avera will give a legislative perspective of the history, the work and collaboration of how this legislation was passed, as well as why this is important for South Dakota.
  • Cameo Anders from Anders Law Office will give a legal perspective of the definition, what it is, what it is not, and an overview of the MOST form. She will also explain the difference between MOST and other legal healthcare documents.
  • Dr. Heinemann from Sanford will give a medical perspective on the provider responsibilities, the importance of patient-centered care, and a summary of the different sections on the MOST form, including how this is different than a Comfort One DNR order.
  • Michele Snyders from Avera eCARE Senior Care will give a social worker perspective on how and when to use MOST, the importance of advance care planning and the process to follow to ensure communication across the continuum of care.
This webinar will be done through Zoom, participation by phone is available, but online participation is recommended.
