Karma Bass is Back for a Third Year

Karma Bass returns for the SDAHO Annual Convention. She will be presenting two sessions for the trustee tracks in the morning on Thursday, September 19. Her first session, Effective Board Leadership in a Population Health World, will examine the board’s role as hospitals and health systems focus on keeping populations healthy, while reducing disparities, and improving health equity. Karma will examine what it takes to become a voice for the community within the organization, and conversely, to be a voice for the organization in the community.

Karma’s second session, Focusing Your Board on Strategy, will discuss techniques for focusing board discussion more effectively and talk about the key strategic issues boards are facing in boardrooms across the country.  She will discuss how strategic discussions can differ at system boards and subsidiary boards and why they should.

Karma Bass, is a highly regarded speaker, facilitator and consultant. She has vast knowledge and experience in governance, strategic planning, quality oversight and board effectiveness. Ms. Bass spent 10 years at The Governance Institute where she oversaw the prestigious biennial survey of governance trends in US hospitals and health systems.
