Do you need a refresher on ICD-10 and PDPM?

The Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) went into effect on October 1, 2019. This new case-mix classification model is used under the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Prospective Payment System (PPS) for classifying SNF patients in a covered Park A stay. With two full months behind us in this new payment model, it may be be a good time for a refresher on the increased importance of ICD-10 coding and documentation alignment under PDPM.
Leading Age members and non-members are able to access a pre-recorded webinar on ICD-10 coding for PDPM which will help providers identify general ICD-10 CM coding guidelines and practices and walk through examples of how to use the ICD-10 code book, including the code category instructions.
To access this training, go to the Leading Age Learning Hub. For more information on PDPM, visit this CMS webpage.
