Notice on the Availability of Nursing Facility Beds

The South Dakota Department of Health has posted a notice on the availability of nursing facility beds due to the closure of the Hudson Care and Rehab Center nursing facility in Hudson. Pursuant to SDCL 34-12-39.6, a new law passed during the 2019 Legislative Session via SB 61, all 42 moratorium beds from the Hudson Care and Rehab shall be held by the Department of Health for up to 18 months from the date of closure and shall be available for use by licensed nursing facility providers. These available beds can be located within 60 miles from the current facility.

Proposals will be reviewed in the order in which they are received. Proposals should be submitted to Lynne Valenti, Deputy Secretary, SD Department of Health, 600 E. Capitol Ave, Pierre, SD 57501.​
