CMS to Post COVID-19 Data to Nursing Home Compare

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released more changes for the Nursing Homes. On June 2, CMS Administrator, Seema Verma, provided more detail around the June 1 Centers for Clinical Standards and Quality/Quality, Safety & Oversight Group Memo. Included in the detail, Administrator Verma announced changes to the Nursing Home Compare. CMS will post the underlying Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID-19 collected data to the Nursing Home Compare website June 4. CMS stated that the public can then view general information of how COVID-19 has impacted nursing homes in a user-friendly format. The data will be broken down by state, number of residents and staff.  CMS will update the data weekly and stated this increases the sites value and reinforces CMS’s commitment to transparency.  To read the full details from Administrator Verma, click here.
