Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services in Viborg
Tom Richter, former Chief Executive Officer at Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services in Viborg, SD retired the end of April.Ā He has been CEO at Pioneer Memorial since March 2013.Ā Prior to joining Pioneer Memorial, Richter served as Administrator of Bethesda of Beresford.Ā Prior to that he served as Administrator or Chief Executive Officer at Tri-County Health Care in Wessington Springs, SD, Landmann-Jungman Memorial Hospital in Scotland, SD, Weskota Memorial Medical Center in Wessington Springs, SD, and at Madison Lutheran Home in Madison, SD. Tom and his wife, Gail, both natives of Huron, SD, live in Dakota Dunes.Ā They have three married children and six grandchildren.
Lindsey Hauger, former Assistant Administrator at Pioneer Memorial, is the new Chief Executive Officer at Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services in Viborg, SD. Lindsey grew up in Viborg and graduated from Viborg High School in 2005.Ā She graduated from college at USD with a Business Administration & Human Resource degree in 2008. Lindsey received her Masterās in Business Administration in Health Care in 2016 through the University of Sioux Falls. She received her Nursing Home Administration License in 2017. Lindsey has worked at PMH&HS since 2012 as the Accountant, Human Resource Assistant, and Assistant Administrator for LTC.
Avera Gettysburg Hospital
Robert Sheckler, former CEO of Avera Gettysburg Hospital and Avera Oahe Manor, resigned as administrator on April 3rd. Robert has been involved in hospital and nursing home care for 30 years.Ā Robert’s first job was in Benkelman and then he spent 10 years in Red Cloud. Sheckler grew up in Verdigre. He graduated from Verdigre High School and continued his education at the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
Kristi Livermont has been named the new Administrator of Avera Gettysburg Hospital and will oversee the operations of Avera Gettysburg Hospital, Avera Oahe Manor Long-Term Care and the Avera Oahe Villa Apartments which began on May 31st. Livermont holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from the University of South Dakota and a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Health Administration from the University of Colorado Denver. In addition to her studies in the US, she has studied Health Administration in Germany, Ecuador, Cuba and Australia. Kristi Livermont is a Pierre native and worked as an Administrative Fellow at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital and as an Administrator in Training at Avera Brady Health and Rehab in Mitchell.
Huron Regional Medical Center
David Dick will retire from his 30 plus year career of hospital administration and current position as president and CEO of HRMC on August 5, 2020. David joined HRMC in March 2014.Ā He previously served as the CEO for Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems from July 2005 to March 2014 and the CEO at Philip Health Services from 1992 to 2005.Ā David has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska and a Master of Divinity Degree (M.Div) from Andrews University.
Erick Larson joined HRMC in January 2020 as chief information officer and will continue leading the information services team as well as the Cerner EMR implementation. In March, Erick stepped up and took a leadership role in HRMCās Incident Command response to the COVID-19 pandemic.position. Throughout his 20 plus year health care career, Erick has demonstrated strong leadership in a multi-hospital system including critical access hospitals and clinics. He has extensive experience with strategic planning and execution, IT strategy and business analytics/decision support. His experiences, knowledge, and leadership ability position Erick well to assume the president and CEO.
