South Dakota Medicaid Rule Change Public Hearing August 25

South Dakota Medicaid is holding a public hearing on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 3 PM to consider the adoption and amendment of several changes to Administrative Rule of South Dakota. The proposed rules update annual references to procedure and diagnosis coding information, allow physician assistants and certified nurse practitioners to order home health services and durable medical equipment in accordance with federal rule changes, clarify coverage of ambulance services when no loaded mileage occurs, clarify third party liability payment provisions involving absent parents, and allow physician assistants, certified nurse practitioners, and certified nurse midwives to have their own caseload in the Primary Care Provider program. A copy of the proposed rules are available at https://rules.sd.gov/. The Department of Social Services will consider comment on the proposed rules until September 4, 2020. The rules are scheduled to go before the interim Rules Review Committee on September 15, 2020.
