CMS approves South Dakota Shared Savings Supplemental Payment State Plan Amendments

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services approved South Dakota State Plan Amendment (SPA) SD 20-005 regarding supplemental payments for hospitals and other qualifying providers and SPA SD 20-006 regarding supplemental payments for nursing homes on August 20. The SPA implements supplemental payments for providers garnering shared savings through a care coordination agreement with Indian Health Service. The SPAs were approved retroactive to June 1, 2020. Shared Savings supplemental payments to providers for SFY2019 totaled $1,979,778.
