AHA, AMA and ANA Release Letter Urging Health Care Workers to get COVID-19 Vaccine

Earlier this week, the  American Hospital Association (AHA), American Medical Association (AMA), and the American Nurses Association (ANA) released an open letter to all health care professionals, urging them to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

The letter begins with appreciation for what health care professionals have done in the battle against Covid-19. “On behalf of our organizations and members, we add our own thanks for the tremendous dedication you each have shown in the face of a relentless pandemic”

The letter goes note that as much as we have pushed current precautions such as wearing a mask, social distancing and hand hygiene we also need to push for high rates of vaccination. “This will require trust in the COVID vaccination process, from the development, distribution and administration of a safe and effective vaccine as well as a willing public to get vaccinated.”

As trusted voices in our communities it is imperative healthcare professionals lead by example. The letter urges frontline caregivers to get the Covid-19 vaccine and share their experience. The letter closes with commitment and support of the vaccine process and to provide critical information about the vaccine.
