SD DOH Releases Draft South Dakota COVID-19 Vaccination Plan and Other COVID Vaccine Resources

​​The South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) has released a draft South Dakota COVID-19 Vaccination Plan. The Plan describes South Dakota’s vaccination preparedness planning, phases approach to COVID-19 vaccination, critical populations, provider recruitment and enrollment, vaccine administration, allocation, and documentation requirements, vaccine safety monitoring, and other items related to the COVID-19 vaccination program implementation in South Dakota. The draft vaccination plan is available here.

In addition, the department has released additional resources for healthcare providers and patients. Resources available for healthcare providers includes vaccine enrollment information, provider education, reporting, safety and other fact sheet information. These resources are available on the DOH website. Information for the public includes general vaccine information and a presentation on vaccine safety. Resources for the public are available here. DOH encourages providers to frequently review the information for provider change for updated information and materials.

DOH has also added a dashboard tracking vaccine administration to the other COVID-19 data dashboards. This dashboard tracks doses administered by manufacturer, total persons administered a vaccine, and doses administered and a count of recipients per South Dakota County. The dashboard is available on the DOH Covid webpage.
