South Dakota Medicaid Updates COVID-19 FAQ

​South Dakota Medicaid has updated their COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions document to address Medicaid flexibility and coverage of COVID-19 Testing, Monoclonal Antibody Therapy, and COVID-19 Vaccination. South Dakota Medicaid continues to evaluate and add flexibilities to Medicaid program to allow providers to address the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) and meet the needs of Medicaid recipients.

South Dakota Medicaid clarified the reimbursement rates for COVID-19 tests and how to submit claims with an add-on code for testing completed within two calendar days. The state also clarified its coverage of monoclonal antibody therapy in line with Medicare guidelines and reimbursement for monoclonal antibody therapy including in Federally Qualified Health Centers and Rural Health Clinics. South Dakota Medicaid also addressed coverage of COVID-19 vaccinations and reimbursement for pharmacists for administration of COVID-19 vaccinations and testing.
