August 10, 12 pm CT Clearing the Smoke: Clinical Evidence of Marijuana Use | Jeremy Daniel, SDSU College of Pharmacy & Allied Health Professionals, Clinical Pharmacist, Avera Behavioral Health Center

Join Jeremy Daniel, Associate Professor at SDSU College of Pharmacy & Allied Health Professionals, where he will share the clinical evidence of marijuana use. During this presentation, Mr. Daniel will describe the difference in the mechanism of action and psychological effects between cannabinoids. He will also describe the side effects of marijuana use and evaluate the level of evidence for marijuana use in various disease states. Lastly, Mr. Daniel will identify the signs of marijuana intoxication and identify disease states with evidence for marijuana use.

August 12, 12 pm CT | SD MFCU, HHS-OIG, and SDAHO: Working Together | Paul Cremer, SD Office of Attorney General & SD Medicaid Fraud Control Unit & Korby Harshaw, Assistant Special Agent in Charge, HHS-OIG

The SD Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (SD MFCU) and Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (HHS-OIG) will discuss various healthcare matters relating to provider fraud, abuse/neglect, and financial exploitation, and the OIG Exclusion List.

August 13, 10 am CT | NHSN Basic Training | Toni Foos, Colorado Hospital Association

This two-and-a-half-hour webinar will cover the basics for entering data into NHSN.  Topics include annual surveys, reporting plans, summary data, alerts, and events, including CAUTI and LabID C. diff and MRSA.
