AHA Requests Members Fill out the Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Survey

Members of the American Hospital Association (AHA) have received the Institute for Diversity and Health Equity (IFDHE) Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Survey. This biennial survey was sent to AHA member facilities and each facility has a personalized survey link.

Voluntary participation in this survey is essential to learning more about how to support hospitals and health systems in their efforts to advance equity. All questions in the survey will be treated as confidential and answers will not be released without expressed, written permission. The aggregate survey findings will be disseminated by the AHA in various ways, including reports, presentations and educational forums. A robust data set will also inform policy changes to support equity in patient care and workforce improvements.

Please note the deadline for completing the survey is approaching on Feb. 28. If you need the survey link to be resent, please email surveysupport@aha.org for a prompt response. In addition, please see this blog post authored by Joy Lewis, AHA’s senior vice president of health equity strategies and executive director of IFDHE, for details on why your participation in the survey is so important.

The AHA is posting a challenge to see which state will have the highest number of members complete the survey. The winner will be recognized at the AHA’s Accelerating Health Equity Conference, May 10 – 12, in Cleveland, Ohio.
