The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) is excited to announce the entire SDAHO Quality Integration Department have earned their Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification. The CPHQ is the only accredited certification in healthcare quality. It validates a professional’s knowledge of healthcare quality practices and competencies. This latest achievement now enhances the credible resources available to SDAHO members.
Earning this highly sought-after credential requires dedication and effective preparation for the CPHQ exam. The CPHQ certification Exam incorporates four main domains:
- Organizational Leadership – Includes structure, integration, regulatory, accreditation, external recognition, education, training, and communication.
- Performance and Process Improvement (PPI) -Includes identification of improvement opportunities, implementation, and evaluation.
- Health Data Analytics – Includes design and data management, measurement, and analysis.
- Patient Safety -Includes assessment and planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Becky Heisinger is the Director of Quality Integration at SDAHO and is excited about the latest achievements by the entire Quality Integration Team. Becky passed her CPHQ certification exam in early 2022 and knows firsthand how much work and preparation go into the successful passage of the exam. “I enjoy taking on new challenges so earning my certification was one that I was eager to pursue. Loretta Bryan and Michelle Hofer are both Clinical Improvement Consultants for SDAHO, who both recently passed the CPHQ Exam. “I now have a deeper understanding of all the details involved in quality. The test was difficult, and I am very grateful to have passed!” Loretta Bryan, BSN, RN, Clinical Improvement Consultant, SDAHO. Michelle admits the test was challenging but it was a longtime goal she is happy to have achieved. “Passing a quality certification has been a goal of mine for some time.
