Ready for a New Healthcare Career? Learn About Opportunities with Sanford Canton-Inwood Medical Center

To help member facilities with workforce needs, SDAHO has launched the Hometown Healthcare Heroes campaign. The campaign is designed to recognize and celebrate member facilities, the people that work there and the communities they live in, while recognizing and promoting job opportunities within member facilities. This month, SDAHO is highlighting Sanford Canton-Inwood Medical Center in Canton, South Dakota.

Leah Peterson is a Physical Therapist and has worked in healthcare for over 30 years, with many of those years with Sanford Canton-Inwood Medical Center. “I think years ago many people thought you had to go bigger to get better. You had to leave to get that expertise, that high-level care but that’s not the case. In South Dakota I can get patients needs met locally. We don’t have to go bigger to get better, we can get good care at home and what we can’t get at home can still be met in South Dakota.”

Sanford Canton-Inwood Medical Center serves the needs of its patients and community all on one campus. Leah says, “I have access to the doctors just by walking down the hall, they can send a patient over with a same day referral. If I am seeing someone that is not feeling well, and it gets serious I have an emergency room 30 seconds away”.

Canton, South Dakota offers residents excellent healthcare, big amenities in a small-town atmosphere and even better, Sanford Canton-Inwood is hiring!
