Canton South Dakota Community Members Talk Partnership with Sanford Canton-Inwood Medical Center and Community Pride

To help member facilities with workforce needs, SDAHO has launched the Hometown Healthcare Heroes campaign. The campaign is designed to recognize and celebrate member facilities, the people that work there and the communities they live in, while recognizing and promoting job opportunities within member facilities. This month, SDAHO is highlighting Sanford Canton-Inwood Medical Center in Canton, South Dakota.

Sanford Canton-Inwood Medical Centers has an 11-bed critical access hospital, 16-bed assisted living community, attached rural health clinic within the community and additional clinic 20 miles away in Beresford, South Dakota. Like much of healthcare across the country, Sanford Canton-Inwood has job opportunities. These career options come with outstanding incentives to help new employees get started. Even more unique for those who consider a career within the Canton healthcare facility, are the community amenities and opportunities. Russ Townsend is the Superintendent for the Canton school district. “Sanford Canton-Inwood Medical Center is a great supporter of our community. If there is an event or a community engagement opportunity, they are a part of it. They are very supportive of us in the school district and have created several hands-on learning opportunities for the students that are interested in healthcare. Each year we give a C-Hawks award that stands for character, honor, achievement wisdom, knowledge and service and Sanford Canton-Inwood gives us a $1,000 for each of those awards, equaling six thousand dollars provided in scholarships for our students each year.”

Sanford Canton-Inwood Medical Center is hiring, with sign-on bonuses, incentives for extra shifts, loan forgiveness programs, and the state recruitment fund for up to $10,000 for those who quality.

Open positions include:
