Home Health Regulatory Updates for 2023 (OASIS E, Value Based Purchasing & More)

​​​With the implementation of OASIS-E set for January 1 of 2023, home health providers need to be prepared for one of the biggest industry changes in recent years. The assessment will have new aspects such as social determinants of health questions, increased behavioral assessments, and expanded questions on pain and infusion.

SDAHO, in collaboration with the Minnesota Home Care Association is offering a four-part virtual series on OASIS-E training, taking place on November 30, December 1, 6, & 7. Jennifer D. Osburn, Director of Education for Home Health Solutions will lead the series, OASIS-E Training for Clinicians.  This training will focus on a foundational understanding of the OASIS data set as part of the required Comprehensive Assessment of the patient. OASIS-E training is a 4-hour program focusing on new OASIS items as well as selected quality items such as those used for Value Based Purchasing.

Objectives for these sessions include:

  • Learn official guidance for answering OASIS E items accurately.
  • Demonstrate understanding of item guidance for new and changed OASIS-E items.
  • Apply OASIS-E guidelines to scenarios to choose accurate responses to OASIS items.

Home Health Regulatory Update for 2023

Another session to help you prepare for home health regulatory updates will take place on December 1 at 2pm CT.  Join Melinda Gaboury from Healthcare Provider Solutions as she discusses the value-based purchasing rollout, OASIS-E implementation, rate changes, and more.
