A Winter Playbook for Nursing Homes and Other Long-term Care Facilities to Manage COVID-19 and Protect Residents, Staff, and Visitors was released by the White House and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services with three directives:
- Help residents and staff access updated COVID-19 vaccines.
- Ensure that residents and staff are testing if they are symptomatic, and know how to access COVID-19 treatment options (such as oral antiviral pills) if they test positive.
- Improve indoor air quality across facilities
