New Home for CAPC’s Clinical Training Resources

The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) has reorganized their clinical training hub. All of their clinical training resources are now located in one place. More than 120,000 clinicians from all disciplines and care settings have used CAPC clinical training to improve care for patients with serious illness.

CAPC’s training in core palliative care skills can help transform practice, leading to better quality and improved patient and family experiences.  These core skills include communication, pain and symptom management, caregiver support and more.

They have grouped the training into two categories: Clinicians and Educators.

Clinicians can reinforce knowledge, practice skills, and elevate palliative care expertise with CAPC’s courses, learning activities, and clinical tools. They include:

  • Online continuing education courses
  • Learning Pathways by specialty, discipline, or topic
  • Fulfill the new 8-hour DEA opioid and substance use disorder training requirement
  • Play a clinical training game
  • Find scripts and phrases for effective patient conversations
  • Watch role-play videos
  • And more

Educators will find CAPC’s clinical training solutions to be convenient and an effective way to build workforce and trainee skills and achieve your organization’s skill-building goals.  Suggestions include:

  • Plan your workforce training initiative
  • View discipline-specific skill-building recommendations
  • Create and assign custom Learning Pathways
  • Train medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Integrate health equity into your training
  • Promote workplace well-being

All CAPC courses offer free CE/CME for physicians, nurses, social workers, and care managers from CAPC member organizations and ABIM MOC credits for physicians.  Not sure if your organization is a member?
