South Dakota Association for Nursing Professional Development (SD ANPD) Affiliate Group

The Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) is a specialty nursing organization, recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), focusing on improving “professional practice and role competence of nurses and other healthcare personnel by facilitating ongoing learning, change, and role competence and growth with the intention of improving population health…” (Harper & Maloney, 2022).

ANPD provides nursing professional development practitioners (NPDP) from across the country with education, resources, best practices, and the opportunity to connect with peers across the healthcare continuum.

South Dakota has an affiliate chapter for NPDPs or those working in the role of onboarding & orientation, competency management, education, role development, collaborative partnerships, and inquiry (research, quality improvement) of our healthcare colleagues. The quarterly meetings consist of highlighting innovative organizational projects, process improvement projects, research, resources, connecting and collaborating with colleagues and more! We have participation from across the state including university faculty, VA, system facilities, and independent facilities.

Are you or do you know of a colleague who might be interested in participating in our SD ANPD Affiliate group?

Our next meeting is January 29, reach out to Debra Morello at debra.morello@sdaho.org to find out more.
