The South Dakota legislative session for 2024 began on January 9, with Governor Kristi Noem presenting the State of the State Address. During her address, the Governor shared the “Top Ten List” of the state’s Freedom Works Here campaign, which had healthcare as number #3. The Governor emphasized the importance of living a healthy life in South Dakota and announced the statewide EMS efforts that are providing the latest technology to patients with a $20 million investment. Over 150 pieces of legislation have been filed, and many anticipate that 2024 will be a record year for the number of bills introduced in South Dakota.
