The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) is excited to announce our First-Annual Facility Art Contest. Participants will display their art project at the SDAHO Post-Acute Partners in Care Conference in Mitchell, April 10-11, 2024, for a chance to win a cash prize for your facility.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Attention Activity Directors of Nursing Homes and Assisted Living, this Facility Art Contest is for you and your residents!
THEME:
This year’s Facility Art Contest theme is: My Community – Past, Present and Future. Share the story of your community and the people who call it home through the artwork created by the residents of your facility.
CRITERIA:
The art project must be led by activity directors but completed by the residents of your facility. The project should reflect the theme and can include anything from a painting, furniture, mosaic, sculpture, mural, quilt, photography, rugs and more. Your facility creation will be showcased during SDAHO’s Post-Acute Care Conference, where it will compete with others.
JUDGING:
Voting for the artwork will take place during the Post-Acute Partners in Care Conference, where attendees will have the opportunity to cast 1 vote. The winners will be announced at the end of the conference.
PRIZES:
SDAHO Enterprises will be providing the winning art pieces which will be:
- First Place: $2,500
- Second Place: $1500
- Third Place: $750
COST:
There is no cost to participate. Project expenses are at your discretion; however, the goal is to make this fun for SDAHO members and residents. After the contest, participants are encouraged to bring their artwork back to their facility and community to showcase their work. Some facilities may consider using their artwork to be showcased at a future community event or gala.
DEADLINE:
Please let SDAHO know by January 31, 2024, if you would like to participate in the contest. Pictures of your FINAL project will need to be submitted no later than April 1, 2024. This will help SDAHO promote the art contest through social media, you will also be encouraged to use your own facility and community social media platforms.
REGISTRATION:
Registration for the SDAHO Post-Acute Partners in Care Conference will open on February 1, however you can reach out NOW to SDAHO if you are interested in participating in the Facility Art Contest.
Please email: info@sdaho.org with “FACILITY ART CONTEST” in the subject line. Share your interest in taking part in the project and any early information about your art project. Once SDAHO receives your email, the SDAHO team will reach back out with additional details!
