LeadingAge reminder that effective January 1, 2023, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) published the calendar year (CY) 2024 physician fee schedule (PFS) final rule and revised the definition of managing employees that now need to be reported. It now includes hospice or skilled nursing facility (SNF) administrator and a hospice or SNF medical director. This individual is employed either under contract or through some other arrangement, whether or not the individual is a W-2 employee. The first reporting period ends March 31, 2024. Updates are ongoing and due within 90 days of a new administrator or medical director. Updates must be made in PECOS or on the 855A form.

- Check the “Change” box
- Add the individual’s details
- On page 37 check either theW-2 or Contracted Managing Employee
- Complete the section on Final Adverse Legal Action
- Submit to your MAC via mail

- Follow the questionnaire prompts and when you arrive at the enrollment review page select “Start Application”
