The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) has released two new video resources on workplace safety for its members. This initiative is supported by the South Dakota Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility (FLEX) Grant, which SDAHO received in both 2024 and 2025.
One of the new resources is an on-demand healthcare facility assessment video, developed in partnership with Healthcare Security Consulting Group LLC and Vizient Inc. This member-only video is designed to help healthcare facilities evaluate their operational procedures and physical environments to identify vulnerabilities and prepare staff for safety and security incidents. This video was funded by the SD Flex Program.
Additionally, SDAHO recently hosted an in-person, Workplace Safety Workshop for critical access hospitals, focusing on hospital risk assessments and de-escalation techniques. The presenters for this training included Mike Dunning, CHPA, CEM, MEM, Principal Consultant at Healthcare Security Consulting Group, and Lisa Terry, CPP, CHPA, Senior Consultant at Vizient.
Members can access the latest SDAHO Workplace Safety Facility Risk Assessment Training Video by visiting our workplace safety webpage.
