SDAHO’s Becky Heisinger elected to NGMA Board of Directors

The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) is excited to share that Becky Heisinger, CGMS, our Director of Rural Health Initiatives, has been elected to the National Grants Management Association (NGMA) Board of Directors. Becky began her three-year term on May 1, 2026.

With nearly two decades of experience in grants management, Becky oversees SDAHO’s nonprofit arm and leads a diverse portfolio of federal, state, and foundation-funded initiatives that support health care innovation and sustainability.

Lashon Brown, CGMS, NGMA President, shared, “I am delighted to welcome Becky Heisinger to the MGMA Board.” Brown went on to say, “Through her extensive background in nonprofit leadership and healthcare, Becky brings a valuable perspective that will help guide NGMA’s strategic planning and maintain the Association’s position as a trusted educational association.”

Heisinger holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and recently graduated with a doctorate in leadership. She is a Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) and a Project Management Professional (PMP). Heisinger serves on NGMA’s Certification Council and previously served as the Council’s inaugural chair. She is a past presenter at NGMA’s Annual Grants Training, the largest grants management-focused training in the nation.

NGMA supports more than 7,500 professionals across grants management, including supervisory, support, accounting and compliance roles. NGMA provides the education, resources, community and support that professionals need to understand grants management guidance; advance professionally and personally; and expand their network.

Her election reflects both her expertise and the important role SDAHO plays in advancing effective grants management and rural healthcare solutions. Through our ongoing efforts in workforce development, grant-funded programming, and strategic partnerships, SDAHO continues to strengthen healthcare delivery and support the long-term vitality of our members.

Please join us in congratulating Becky on this impressive achievement! We look forward to the insights she will bring back to our association as she helps guide the strategic direction of the grants management profession nationwide.
